“The STEP Program through the Palomino Horse Breeders Heritage Foundation is helping people who want to further their education in the equine industry have a better chance of obtaining their dreams.”
Preserving a Legacy That Still Inspires
Our Mission
The Palomino Horse Breeders Heritage Foundation is dedicated to preserving the past, present, and future of the Palomino Horse and to those who have dedicated themselves to maintaining and perpetuating the breed.
How We Fulfill Our Mission
Preservation
Safeguarding the history, artifacts, and records that define the Palomino horse and its community.
Education
Providing opportunities for learning, research, and public awareness to keep the legacy relevant and accessible.
Support
Funding scholarships and initiatives that invest in the next generation of equine leaders and enthusiasts.
What We’re Committed To
The Foundation was created to provide a meaningful way to support the Palomino horse, its owners, and those who have made lasting sacrifices to preserve its legacy.
Why This Work Matters
History does not preserve itself. Without intentional effort, the stories, achievements, and contributions that shaped the Palomino horse could be lost over time. The Foundation ensures those stories remain visible and valued, connecting past generations to those still to come.
Member Testimonials
- Dianna Watson

- Amanda Hersom
“To better develop the horse industry, we must first understand where we have come from and preserve that history, as it is fundamental to moving forward and building on what we have learned from past experiences. The people who make up the PHF bring a wealth of knowledge from years in the industry, and that knowledge is essential to responsibly stewarding its future.”
- Molly Nicodemus
“Individuals and groups should support and donate to PHF because the Palomino horse and its members are a valuable part of the horse community’s past. From iconic images of Roy Rogers to the current reigning and running Palominos, the golden horses should be preserved in their multitude of contributions.”
- Amanda Viator
“We need the work of the Palomino Horse Breeders Heritage Foundation to keep the history alive. Without the Foundation, the history of the Palomino Horse would be lost forever.”
- Mary Ann Fielitz
